A juicer is a machine or you may call it a tool that is used to extract juice from fruits and herbs, leafy greens & other types of vegetables. This process called juicing. Juicer machine crashes & grinds, or squeezes the juice out of the pulp. Few types of juicers can also function as a ”food processor”. Most of the dual or twin gear & horizontal masticating juicers have attachments for crushing herbs & spices, extruding pasta & noodles or breadsticks, making baby food & nut butter, grinding the coffee, plus making nut milk, etc.

Types of Juicer machine:

There are three main types of juicer machines.

Centrifugal force type Juicers:

Such type of juicer basically takes fruits & vegetables through a feed tube & directly into contact with a sharp blade that shreds them. The juice from the fruits & vegetables is thrown by the ‘centrifugal force’ of the spinning basket against the sides of the basket & pushed through it into a jug or a glass.

Masticating type Juicers:

Making use of a single auger gear that is spiral in shape, masticating juicers press & chew, or masticate, the fruits & vegetables as they are fed into the tube, then the juice is gradually extracted & collected in a container that fits under the gear shaft, & the pulp is continuously ejected at the end of the gear shaft into a pulp container.

Triturating type Juicers:

They are similar to a masticating single gear juicer. The triturating juicer has two augers. It crushes fruits & vegetables hard, then it presses the juice out of them. This type of method of extracting juice releases further soluble fiber, & enzymes, vitamins, & trace minerals from the pulp, making the juice extremely nutrient-rich. A few of these juicers actually have the technology to slow down the ‘oxidation process’, which is necessary if you want to juice a day’s worth of juice at one time & store for later consumption.

What to look for best in Juicer machine:

Many juicer machines are available on the market to satisfy most of the budget, But, keep in mind that the cheapest one may not always make you happiest. Always think of your juicer purchase as an investment in your long-term wellness, energy, & brilliance. We really want to squeeze every possible ounce of goodness into our glass. but, unfortunately, crappy juicers can produce crappy yield. So, If you are going to spend money on high-quality, organic fruits & vegetables, & time preparing them for juicing, then make sure that the machine you use helps maximize their nutrients as well as power.

Few Juicing tips:

Here are a few juicing tips for our readers:

Nutrition experts fruits & veggies don’t mix with two exceptions, i.e., carrots can be mixed with any type of fruit, & apples can be mixed with any vegetable. But people mix all kinds of fruits & veggies in their juice recipes without any digestive issues.

Leafy greens are so packed with vitamins & nutrients. They are called superfoods. The most super of them all is ‘wheatgrass’ which you can also grow easily at your home in your backyard. Greens are a bit bitter but powerfully rich in nutrients. Too much may disturb your stomach. If you want to reduce the bitter taste. Add a little lemon in it.

Centrifugal juice machines are less expensive, but the problem is they don’t do greens, & we hope we have already convinced you of the importance of adding greens to all your juice recipes. It is recommended to have a slow juicer machine, which adds less heat & with oxygen preserving more & more nutrients.

Rough skins of pineapple & avocado, as well as pits & seeds, should be removed. But apple skin & citrus peel are soft & edible (except orange) & full of nutrients. The pith, that soft white material just under the rind, also has nutrients in it. As for pulp, add some mayonnaise to it for a yummy mock tuna salad. Or you can add the pulp to pancakes, cookies, & even in hummus. Keep in mind that, some seeds & greens may upset your stomach, so make sure that you have complete knowledge about that before starting your smoothie adventure.

Whatever gets on the skin of fruit or veggies will be absorbed to some extent not much. Washing your fruits & vegetables is quite effective against harmful bacteria but not fertilizers & pesticides. Anything which is labeled organic means that it is free of harmful chemicals.

Here is a money-saving trick. You can just spray or rinse your berries in a solution of 1 cup white vinegar & 10 cups water. Allow them to soak for just a few minutes & then let them dry completely. You will not taste any vinegar flavor on your berries & they will easily last a week longer without mold.

The rich nutrients in fresh juice start disappearing within minutes, so drink your juice or smoothie immediately to get full advantage.

Studies have found that our bodies absorb more nutrients in the morning time. So add and have a glass of juice or smoothie in your breakfast.

Research says children who take multivitamin supplements have higher IQ than others. So, why not introduce your child to fresh juice which has more nutrients than the best multivitamin. Keep in mind that supplements are not always safe. For instance, vitamin E & Selenium increase the risk of prostate cancer in men under 65, plus beta-carotene increases the risk of lung cancer in smokers. So, try to stick with fresh juices instead of supplements
